Uganda being an Agricultural country, farming is inevitable. Our youth group supports most farmers in the sub-county by educating them on the current global trend in Agricultural as well as introducing and providing new crops in the sub-county. We introduced Moringa oleifera and Neem plants in late 2002. This year (2004), we hope to process moringa into leaf powder, root extract and ointment for sale.
Local markets for most Agricultural products are not reliable because of high competition and climatic changes. We hope in future to help farmers in Kirewa sub-county to market their produce in the neighboring towns and across the boarders into Kenya since Tororo is a boarder town.
Our second priority to education is farming and we believe committing to it will yield tangible results that will send poverty into the history books of Kirewa. However the price of achieving these amazing results are high but must be paid now or never.
